It's liquid

We are on a fast with church. I'm doing all liquids with the exception of a salad on Saturdays. Well I forwent the salad and opted for ice cream, it's liquid... My stomach is going to hate me! I did not eat the cone!

Apple Picking

My parents have the best apple tree! Some people drive forever to find good apples we walk up the street.

Over the last several years we have fallen in love with Woodland Park, Green Mountain Falls and Cascade. My church is buying a new building up this way and I got to go visit last week. This view and this coffee is calling me!

Last Summer Weekend

We love our Colorado weather and love taking advantage of the beauty that God has created. This weekend we went up Catamount Reservoir which is about half way up Pikes Peak. Gary and the kids were happy fishing and I took advantage of hiking alone for a couple of hours. It was wonderful, hiking alone makes me feel small and dependent on God. After a bit we decided to go all the way to the top of Pikes Peak. It was cold and windy but beautiful just the same.

Well...

I have been fighting this feeling of being sick since Wednesday. I just don't have a lot of time to be still and rest. I'm typically up no later than 5 and on the go until my head hits the pillow. I'm in the middle of putting a business meeting together, a huge loan for my church and learning to be an accountant so my sweet friend can have maternity leave. All this on top of trying not to miss a beat with Gary and the kids, keep with running here and there loving the balloons and everything else in between. But it's taking a toll, I feel horrible. I have been medicating myself not to feel the pain of my double ear infection, sinus infection and having bronchitis. I'm trying to serve faithfully in ministry, clean my house and get laundry done and feeling like a complete failure as I lay here on the couch completely done. I'm exausted, I can't breath. I know I just need to rest, so today as I look at my unorganized house and pile of laundry I know today is my only chance to rest! Under the blankets with my hair in a bun I am resting and praying for a successful week ahead and a hair appointment :) 

A Little Enamored

While at the balloon lift off I saw this sweet little elderly couple. I was slightly obsessed with how sweet they were toward each other and could imagine Gary and I in our little camp chairs at the balloons alone when the kids were grown. Not to mention how cute this lady was with her scarf on her head, I have obtainable goals! 

Balloons

It's a tradition in our little family to go to the balloon lift off. It's fun and we all have a favorite balloon. The weather was beautiful and the crowd in the morning light and perfect. We did the glow as well with some of our sweet friends Andres, Rachel and Bill and Kristen but it was super windy so the glow did not happen. Good times with sweet friends was nice!
