Cold Summer Day

Love Hate

I have a love, hate relationship with social media. My Facebook Page has so many people that I don't really know. Because FB says I have four hundred close friends, I don't want to post updates about my kids and family there. I decided to create an Instagram account that is all family related and I only follow and allow people to follow me that I love and want to share my private life with. I continue to update my blog for our yearly printed photo album but will use FB to support and promote my church. 

Owen Day

Owen had the day off from school, so we spent the day together. We went to Woodland Park and had coffee together where we read and talked. We then went to the farmers market and it was great! 

Parents Night

We are really excited for Lilly this year! She has wonderful teachers and exciting classes! 

Sky Sox

$2 Tuesday at the Sky Sox Stadium. It's really great to be able to walk to games. 

1st Time

This was Owen's first time mowing the lawn. He did great!

How I love my people and Colorado. Today was good. 

Fusion

I love leading worship. I'll never be able to speak or write in words how God has spoken to me while praising Him. I am truly happiest while worshipping Jesus, and spend a lot of time in worship in the kitchen! Wednesday night was a night I'll never forget. I was so thankful and blessed to be apart of such a powerful time of prayer and worship. I sang my heart away, I left that platform purely exhausted and then the next day had a huge Holy Spirit hangover and very little voice. I have never heard so many people come forward with testimonies after a service. What made this Fusion Service so special is that not only was our church family bonded together but all radiant families were bonded together. There is nothing more powerful than a family praying for kids. Our kids are so important and precious it was just incredible to share that moment of being lead by the Holy Spirit with Lilly and Owen. Gary and I can't live Lilly and Owens lives for them but we can pray and lead them in the way that they should go. We are praying that the kids never forget God and that they kling to the narrow road, leaving the world behind. I'll never forget that night. 

1st Day of School

Just like that, summer is over. We are back to the land of schedule, routine and crockpot dinners for days. Lilly and Owen are the perfect brother and sister. When one of our Pastors asked the kids about their first day, Lilly was really excited and Owen not so much. Lilly shared that she is in all kinds of advanced classes and Owen said he just hopes to make it out alive. 

Wow!

Wow!! God is speaking to me today! 

We can't let our children neglect their spiritual lives for sports or extracurricular activities and for us media! There is nothing wrong with kids playing sports or being involved with extracurricular activities as long as it does not compromise their spiritual lives! Both our kids play sports, enjoy choir and art.  But we need to be more concerned with our kids eternity vs their position and popularity in this world! This world is so backwards, we pride ourselves on position on money and junk! This world is so full of compromise. We said long ago our kids are not allowed to play sports or have concerts on Sundays if it interferes with us going to church as a family. We have to live for Christ not this world! One day Gary and I are going to be held accountable at the feet of Jesus for the way we raised our family. We have big dreams and would love to see Lilly and Owen succeed in all God has for them. My fear of God is so much bigger than the opinions of people in this world! Praying for my kiddos today that they remain strong in their faith! As for me and my house we will serve the lord!

Sleeping Beauty, Kind of

Lilly does not sleep. From the sweet moment she entered life I learned that the kid functions on very little sleep. As she has gotten older we have become a little more lenient with her. During the school year she can stay up but only in her bed, during off times we let her stay awake within reason. She never has a problem getting out of bed and has excellent grades. So as a momma that needs her sleep, I have had to learn this little lady that is energetic and ready to go all day and night! This morning when I woke up I found this in the refrigerator, so as you can see there are some benefits to a responsible young lady who doesn't sleep! 

Uggg the Struggle

I have lost about ten pounds but this is a struggle. I'm really struggling with my thyroid and how awful I feel. I pretend I feel cheerful and well when I'm struggling with how tired and blah I really am. However, I'm totally committed to not taking the synthroyd. That medicine does ugly things to me and this tired thing will eventually go away. My biggest complaint and concern is my skin. I'm breaking out like crazy. It's terrible and I feel like crawling in a hole. But I know this will pass and beauty is on the inside. God sees my heart! 

I have always romanticized about walking in the rain.I tell you three miles is only romantic if you are walking with your love! Not alone freezing and running through hail! Lol! 

Pizza in the Park

We took a little drive to Salida! We are loving our little dog! We love taking him on our family adventures. One day he won't be so little. I love my sweet family, this has been an amazing summer! 

Friday's

During the Summer the kids and I have little adventures while Gary is at work. This past Friday we spent some time swimming at Memorial Lake. We are loving taking Mac with us, he is going to be a water doggies 

Oh This Kid

What a summer of growing Owen did! He is a sweet hard working little man! He deserved a little treat for being home alone, making dinner and making sure the house stayed clean! I'm a proud momma!

Camp

Lilly went to middle school church camp! I love my sweet girl and have big prayers for her. I pray that she follow Jesus and not the world. That she look to God and no one else. For a young lady who is in public school I can imagine how hard it is to follow the light when so many people compromise. I'm praying against compromise that both the kids stand with Jesus, even if it looks funny for the world we live in. Gary and I are so thankful that Lilly has these memories.
