Servant Hearts
Our kids are two of the most given people. They don’t ask for much and they love to serve. Lilly and Owen both do a lot at church. Right now they are leading small groups in kids ministry and they are always willing to do any odd little jobs that come up. Lilly spend Thursday evenings babysitting for our worship baby and Owen down his snow day digging our neighborhood out.

Working at a Cafe
Sometimes we sneak out and work offsite. This is one of the most amazing women I know! Melissa loves Jesus and has truly become one in my very best friends.

This Really Happened
Monday night our kids were wound tighter than a two dollar watch! While having dinner they were loud and crazy and I wanted to wring their little necks! So while the kids did dishes and cleaned the kitchen from their being home all day shenanigans , Gary and I decompressed in the car at Starbucks 😂
They Build Things
Owen and Gary built a little engine to go along with the big one. I love that Owen is learning to play out in the shop.

Basketball Mode
Owen’s Favorite week of the year, the start to basketball season. I do love the relationship that he and his friend Lincoln have together. It’s really sweet and it has become so fun to watch them play.

Hiking With God
I don’t do New Years resolutions but I do want to do somethings differently this year. I got up early as I typically do and let my family enjoy their morning sleep lol. I decided to just get outside on this perfect sixty degree day and do a quick hike. I was alone with my prayers and God. It was a beautiful time to organize my thoughts and commune with the Lord. I’m incredibly thankful for the lifeline of prayer and the stillness to Hear. Im excited for what lies ahead, the God opportunities for my family, church and friends.
My Not So Babies
I really love Lilly and Owen. They are kind and caring. The past couple of weeks has been a little rough, it’s been very busy with a lot of sickness. These two have stepped up and God has given them both beautiful compassion. It’s kind of sad that everyone is well, just in time to go back to work and school. I’m already planning our Spring Break getaway!

Weekend Adventures
Gary randomly took Friday off so we had an all day adventure. We went to breakfast, visited all three church campuses, squeezed in a super easy hike and had ice cream. It was a long day but so much fun. The weather was nearly sixty degrees!

My Birthday
My birthday is not until the second of January but Gary always asks me what I want to do on the first. We typically have to go back to school and work on the second so the first it is! Everybody is typically partied and gived out so I try to lay low and let the day pass. So in typical Gary style he asked what I wanted to do and I told him I just wanted to go into my office to pray and get some things done. So as my little family was snug asleep I went and finished out the year and prayed through my office. I feel and hear God at church, I do honestly love being there. There is no better place for me to start the new year or celebrate my birthday than at church. Even better tomorrow is Fusion :)
New Year
Don’t let these happy pictures fool you...I wanted to be in bed by 9 and was pretty grumpy my family insisted on me staying awake to ring in the new year. We played games and watched The Greatest Showman. It was sweet and simple!

Daycation
I have been really sick this Christmas Season. Nothing went as planned but it was beautiful nonetheless. Celebrating Christ can’t go wrong even in the midst of the yuck. I was desperate to get out and enjoy some time with my family and see the snow. We went to Salida and Buena Vista for a long day of being together. I was pretty ambitious to go hiking and play in the snow. I over did it but we had a good time. I love how the snow blankes the earth. It’s so beautiful.

Christmas
We had an amazing Christmas with Family. My heart is full. Side note the Broadmoor is incredibly overrated and we won’t go back, way too many people. And at the end of this post is our sweet family of four having dinner together. This is one of my favorite Christmas traditions just us in our home together. That’s not wine friends :) just sparkling raspberry cider.

Rest
I’m terrible at resting. I want everyone around me to rest to be okay. But then I stay up too late and get up too early and have every moment filled. Last week God asked me to take a day off. I listened and took the day to volunteer in Owen’s class run errands and eventually made my way back to the office. This was not what the Lord asked of me. Today I’m paying the price of disobedience. I’m in bed with a nasty cold begging God to heal me. I don’t have time to feel this way, today is one of the busiest days of the year I’m fully out of commission. And as I’m lying in bed with the chills I know God is right here with me. I try to be a good help to everyone around me, especially the people I love. Last night in my devotional I read that God always has my back, even if everyone around has disregarded me. He has my back and knows what is best. So as I try to shut my eyes to pray and sleep off the sick. I’m confident that God is working healing in my body. I don’t do New Years resolutions but as 2019 is approaching quickly I’m praying for a new perspective on rest and my calling. I have always been a hard worker, but I need new perspective and to see through the eyes of God. I want to be fleshless and full of His spirit. I’m desperately wanting things to be done by His will not my own. Shutting my eyes..finding rest.
