Weekend

Oh how I love the weekend! We had family movie night and Chinese Food, the next morning my little family slept in as I went for a run, read a book and sipped coffee alone. Lilly is out of cloths so Gary and Owen went for man coffee and some  man time at the hobbie shop while Lilly and I went and had girl time at Starbucks and shopping. We met up for a quick lunch and just enjoyed the rest of the day. And Sunday was church and a little resting! Love this wife and mom thing! I did manage to take a picture of the boyz, those two are WAY too much alike! Love weekends!

Really?!

I literally only eat one big meal a week. My doctor says this is no good, but it seems to work for me. We headed back to the lift off celebration tonight and I was going to treat myself with a corn dog. And my husband brought me back corn on the cobb! I guess he saved me a long run...

Gross

Okay, even when I was super fat I would never eat this! My husband and the kids shared a deep fried snickers bar! I'm pretty sure I got fatter just watching them.

Random

Still trying to loose the rest of my weight... I'm getting there. Apparently I need to run faster!

We Love These Kids!

Lilly and Owen are great kids and we love them so very much! My church babies!! Lilly served in critter county and Owen hung out with the security guys. I love these two so much!!

I Love This City

Selfie Stick

Okay, sometimes I can be naughty.. This lady was so obnoxious with her selfie stick I just could not help taking pictures of her. The four of us were laughing hysterically! I'm not kidding she was posing and it was just ridiculous! I'm still laughing!!

Up and Away

Beautiful morning!

Wings Of Blue

As an Air Force BRAT it was always an honor to watch the cadets. These men and women are amazing. This beautiful young woman is on her way to being a pilot. Owen was amazed!

They Walk Alike

I love watching these two.

Peace

I spent way to many years sleeping in. I love my pre dawn jogs. The cool breeze and light of the moon shining on the mountains was so pretty.

Endings and Hope

Gary and I have a friend from church that is dying of cancer, he has been given just two to six months to live. This past weekend we took the kids to the Denver area VA Hospital/Nursing Home that he is going to be staying at for the rest of his life. This is a man whom Gary has served in ministry with for a little over seven years, he is tough and a little mouthy and I like him. He does not play games, he cusses a little and laughs hard but most importantly he loves Jesus and knows that the Kingdom of Heaven will be welcoming him home very soon. It was sad yet hopeful to see this man in peace.

A sweet story as we were visiting. We go everywhere as a family, very rarely do we leave the kids behind and we both felt it was important for the kids to experience this particular moment with us as they have known this man for nearly their entire lives. Chuck taught Owen how to fist bump and has been relentlessly teasing Lilly for years. So we all visited together and then made a fun day in Denver. I was really proud of the sensitivity of Lilly and Owen and the maturity they showed as we prayed and visited with our friend. Owen tends to make friends where ever he goes and this day was no exception. As we were talking with Chuck, I noticed a man sitting alone and having his lunch. The next moment made my heart overwhelm with inside tears. Owen sat down at the table with this man who was in a wheelchair and had his bib tightly wrapped around his neck. Owen said I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches too they are my favorite. It was one of those moments where a mommas heart sees the good in her little guy. Owen and this man continued their conversation for several minutes one that included talking about which Army this man was in and remote control tanks. They ended their conversation with a little hug just between guys. I love my kids and I love the way God is opening their hearts to serving and loving people. I truly see God moving and working in the hearts of Lilly and Owen and it makes me so happy. I’m really proud of these kids for their hard work in school, their willingness to serve in church but most importantly the fact that they are in pursuit of the Only thing that matters and that is God. We ask for continued prayers for our friend who entering into his last days, we pray for peace that surpasses all understanding and a beautiful journey Home.

Casa Bonita

Every Colorado kid must go at least once, it’s a rite of passage kind of like the incline but you are more likely to live coming off the incline vs the horrible food at this unique place. There is a terrible place in Denver called Casa Bonita, it is pretty magically awful but it’s a must for any Colorado Native kid. It’s a Mexican food restaurant like non-other with dive shows, gun fights, indoor arcade and a pirate cove. The food is no good, like taco bell meets the elderly grandma who has lost her spice. It’s pretty bad and the smell of food and chlorine it’s magically awful.. But the kids LOVE it, Lilly and Owen would love to plan a trip back to the D to play. My kids as much as they love being alone on a mountain and playing in the peace and seclusion of a forest somewhere they both are very fascinated with the city. They do like to boo at my beloved Bronco stadium something I try and ignore each time we drive by it..  but I love the wide eyed and curiosity of the two of them each time we play in Denver.

Spring Break

I’m morning Spring Break... We had such a great time from movies to Denver and Salida. Thankful summer is right around the bend.
