Good Times

I went to lunch with my mom and brother today. So hard to do liquids when you get invited to lunch, so I fasted the evening today. I'm doing liquids this fast with the exception of a small Daniel Fast meal at the end of the day. My thyroid thanks me for one meal.
I love my family. But my mom needs help in the selfie/groupie department!

Friday's

While Gary is a work and my kids are st school on Friday, I find little adventures to occupy my time. I typically go hiking to clear my head and just enjoy God. This Friday I was feeling a little under the weather, I'm not real sure what my problem is, just very tired. So I took a drive with my faithful companion and sat outside and enjoyed an amazing,  made with real pumpkin, latte from my little mountain cafe.

Fusion

I have no words, I'm just so thankful. Beyond blessed that God reveals Himself. And I'm thankful my family chooses to be apart of it.

I love to walk among the trees, to be alone on unknown paths, to explore creation and admire His handiwork. The sun, sky, smell of the flowers, mountains and trees never get old to me. I see Him in the simple and hear His voice in the wind saying “I’m here.” Romans 1:20 tells us that through creation, we see His “invisible qualities” and “divine nature.” There are times when I am purely speechless and in awe of creation and will stop to worship and simply be amazed and admire the Creator.

During the last several days of prayer and fasting, I have felt a longing and urgency to be alone in my secret places. Where I am called to worship and praise Him. Those secret places where the busy of the day fades away, and my heart and soul can be consumed and refreshed in His presence. Where I can quietly respond to the magnitude of God. The secret places where I am fully aware of His “invisible qualities.” Psalm 42:2 says exactly what my heart sings and cries, “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

So many people ask the question, where is God? My heart knows exactly where He is. God is all around, He is everywhere and He is longing for a relationship, a commitment from each of us. For His children to come to Him in full desperation and dependency. Jesus has given us a special invitation. An invitation made for every person on this earth. There is nothing exclusive about His invitation. It’s not for the elite, it’s not for the perfect, it’s not for the successful. His invitation is for us, the sinner, the lost, the hopeless. Jesus made it clear in Matthew chapter 9 that His invitation was for everyone when He called a tax collector to simply “Follow Me.” Jesus came for the sinner, the imperfect. Jesus came to invite those who are far from God to bring them to experience God’s love by following Him. He longs for a relationship with us, and whether we know it or not our souls thirst for God!

During these next several days of prayer and fasting, I’m praying for my family, friends and  church family. I want to encourage each of you to find your secret place, whether it be your prayer closet, or like me… among the trees. Commit yourself to moments of quiet prayer and intense focus and worship on your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Listen for His still small voice, His invitation. Create space and time to reflect on what you are longing for. Develop a deep love and intimate relationship with your Lord. I pray the sweet invitation of eternal love echoes over and over and you answer the simple call to follow.

Calm After a Big Weekend

Gary and I slipped out together this morning to enjoy coffee and some Bible time alone. I love our sweet moments alone, reminds me how much I like the guy. We then took the kids on a quick hike at Fox Run, the turtles were everywhere today.

Puppy Tales

Mac is definitely apart of our family. We love him. We take him nearly everywhere with us. We even have found great pet friendly restaurants we can sit outside and enjoy and it's in one of our sweet little mountain towns!

"BER" Month Traditions

Fall is beginning and this brings months of family traditions. Our kids really don't ask much they just love little things and bringing together. So this weekend we did the balloons, the lift off is a beautiful and calm event. However, the glow is hectic, chaotic and millions of people attend. Maybe not millions but enough to make me want to hide. I'm hoping next year we can skip the glow. It's pretty but, people everywhere. We had fun as a family, new memories!

End of Summer Party

We had such a good time with some of our favorite people ever!! We love the Perkins Family beyond!

A Little Fun

Lilly and I sent this picture to my parents and told them we got our hair colored. My dad was pretty ticked off! Lol!! Lilly finally told him it was a filter on her phone!

Just Like Gary

I just can't believe how much alike Gary and Owen are! This is like looking at Gary. Such a serious little man.

Happy Birthday Owen

We celebrated Owens birthday on the 23rd of August. His heart is growing so big and he is becoming quite the little man. He is so much like Gary that sometimes I just laugh at his antics. He has the best sense of humor and loves big. He sees value and kindness in people. We pray he has an amazing year full of God experiences! My kids are so easy when it comes to parties. Owen wanted Subway lol, and a picnic at Garden of the Gods! So we had his picnic on the weekend and then celebrated with Grammie and Grampy with cake and icecream on his birthday.

Spring Break

I’m morning Spring Break... We had such a great time from movies to Denver and Salida. Thankful summer is right around the bend.
