Deputy Micha Flick

Our city was rocked by the death of Deputy Micha Flick. Our entire city was in morning over this tragic loss. Rachel, Micha’s wife is a friend of mine and his brother in law Kalani has been a friend of mine and Teddy’s since we were little kids. My best friend, Melissa and I had the opportunity to pray and grieve with Micha’s partner last week as she attends our church. We had the opportunity to hear first hand from this beautiful woman exactly what happened. I’m so incredibly thankful for the unshakable faith that this amazing family has shown. There is beauty in this tragedy as many in our city that don’t know the Lord have heard time and time agin this week about the Flick’s faith in God. Seeds were planted and I pray hearts have been changed. I debated on attending the memorial service but I was scheduled to lead worship. Though I could have found a replacement, I felt it was best to honor God with worship and praise for this family. It was a complete God decision as Micha’s procession went right by the church. Gary and the kids had the honor of watching the procession and standing in unity with many in our community. Yesterday it was said that Micha was not a victim but a Victor! Indeed he is, he is rejoicing with our Lord!

Antics

So I’m upstairs blow drying my hair and I hear hysterics in the back yard! Lilly, Owen and Mac were in the backyard with a sled. They are a hot dang mess but I love them.

Oh This Man!

Poor Gary’s shop is just overwhelmed with more work than they can handle, which is also great. He has been going into work at 2a and then working until 3p, I’m sure he’d work later but he pickes up the kids from school. I have always been a sucker for a smart, hardworking man who loves Jesus and I really nailed this one, well done Jen.. After weeks of this schedule and no end in sight he took the day off this past Friday to go to Dads and Doughnuts with Owen. I’m off on Fridays so we took advantage and had a breakfast date.

Choir Basketball

Owen has been busy the last couple of weeks. He had a choir concert and has started his school basketball season. He is doing great, I’m still surprised at how well he plays! He calls out plays like a boss.

Church Kids

Church kids have to do homework somewhere! This young lady is amazing! She has straight A’s plays the flute is amazing at art and has work being showcased at a local restaurant and she makes time to serve in church! I adore her!!

Moving Party

Our staff is very close and when we get together it’s just fun, even when we are moving tons of Christmas decorations. My friend Kelly has a problem :) I have never seen so many decorations! It’s something I’ll be giving her a hard time about for the rest of our lives! Our Pastors moved this past week to make room for Pastor Todd’s mom and I only got one picture. This is a picture of my Worship Pastors little boy. He is the sweetest little man! PT was carrying a box of books up the stairs and Ogden said “you’re doing a great job Pastor Todd!” I love little encouragers! I took this picture to send to his momma and forgot to send it, I felt it was totally blog worthy.

Morning Devotion

Both Lilly and Owen are involved in sports, art and music. Once a week Owen has an early basketball practice and Lilly has an early art class. This gives me the opportunity to take the opposite kid to coffee and have devotions before our day begins. I’m enjoying this time alone with them one on one and think I’ll start building it into our mornings once a week. We do morning devotions the three of us every day but there is something even more special with that sweet one on one time.

Winter Adventures

We have done a lot of outdoor activities this winter. It’s been cold and dry not a lot of snow. So we have gotten some great hiking in, walked over a frozen lake and even had a picnic in Salida.

Spring Break

I’m morning Spring Break... We had such a great time from movies to Denver and Salida. Thankful summer is right around the bend.
