VOTE

2010 Elections

Don't forget to vote. Every follower of Christ has a responsibility to vote and to vote according to our Biblical convictions. Polling places open Tuesday November 2. Follow this link to the voters guide provided by the Colorado Family Institute. http://www.cofamily.org/voterguide

There have been times when I have been criticized by saying I don't understand how Christians can vote for certain political leaders. I devote several hours a week to studying the Bible and I stand firm in my convictions and statements, now more than ever. To all who criticize and judge my voting practices rest assure I have only One that I will be giving an account of my life to. I long, and have no doubts that I will hear those four word from my Savior. Well done faithful servant. I want to look at my Savior and know that I have done as He has expected in all areas of my life. This includes the way I vote, pray, love my husband and our families, raise our children, manage our finances, worship and work. I pray that all people vote intelligently, putting aside the "what's in it for me" attitude and vote with responsible convictions.

Totally TRUE!!!

Yesterday I was working and a member of mine came in my office with a parrot. This member of mine sits down at my desk and was so instant that I hold his bird. I reluctantly held it. After about thirty seconds the bird in his little birdie manner told this guy he wanted  me to pet its head. Reluctantly I did and the darn thing bit my finger HARD!!! It then freaked out! Really I can't make this stuff up. Keep in mind this was a Saturday and our office was packed! It was bird pandemonium! My only regret was that my friend Sarah was not there with me to share the horror!! I wonder if this constitutes as work-mans comp!!! HA~HA!! :)

Pumpkin Patch with Lilly's Class!

 My blue eyed little man!

 Lilly's Class!

Lilly being rescued by her friend Johnathan, I think Gary will be in trouble in High School!

Owen and I had the pleasure of going to the pumpkin patch with Lilly's class. What an amazing group of kids! I am so excited for the future of these young people. I pray they stay excited about learning and just continue to grow in faith and maturity! God blessed us with a beautiful Fall day here in Colorado Springs the weather was perfect for romping and sliding and petting the sheep and alpaca.

Green Hand to Blue Hand

Last time this year I had a green hand dying Lilly's Halloween costume this year I have a blue hand! Lilly wants to be Cinderella and keeping with our tradition of making our own costumes I am once again dying fabric. I wish I had taken a picture of the dress and shirt before I dyed them. They were off white. The dress looked like it was a flower girl dress and the shirt came from the womens sections, I only need the lace sleeves. I am excited to see how this is going to turn out! Owen is going to be Dennis the Menace fitting right!? I was also thinking about resurrecting the rodeo clown costume for Owen as well. Every once in a while he puts it on and it's so funny to see him in it! Any who this is the beginning of a sparkling Lillarella costume, and my blue hand that I will be living with for the next three days. Next year I buy plastic gloves!

We LOVE Netflix!!!

Ok WE LOVE Netflix!!!!!!!! I Love to pay this bill! I kid you not, I highly recommend Netflix. You get more than your monies worth. We get unlimited movies on our x-box, on the computer and on the wii! And on top of that we get two at a time in the mail unlimited per month and it only takes one business day to get them. In an economy where people are struggling to pay bills, and buy groceries this is a company that does great business for an amazing price. You would think I am getting paid to write this, well I am not. I like good companies with great service and this is one of them!

II Corinthians 12:9-10

(II Corinthians 12:9-10)  He has said to me, "“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”" Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.  Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

Well this has been an eventful week. Owen has been icky all week long. He has had a bit of a stomach thing. My dad finally had his shoulder surgery and seems to be doing really well. And then I got a phone call from my brother. No details of course but I worry about the events of the world and how it impacts him and the girls. We live in a very strange time right now. I have been praying allot for the world lately so that all people would wake up and see God intentions for us. Today I feel very close to my God. I know that in weakness and uncertainty I am the strongest.

National Walk To School Day!!!

Lilly's school participated in National Walk to School Day! God gave us a beautiful morning to walk and the kids really enjoyed it. Along the way were different checkpoints. They had firemen, police officers, EMT's and teachers talking about safety and strangers. They handed out candy, pencils, notebooks and workbooks. It was really put together very well for first thing in the morning. I forgot I had the camera so I am sorry for bad pictures. I took these right at the very end before we got to school.
