Guns, What do You Think?

Gary grew up hunting and going shooting for fun, not to mention he was in the military, Needless to say he is very comfortable around guns. I on the other hand am very uneasy around them. Don't get me wrong I am not against owing weapons just feel weird that I have them in my home especially with little guys. Everyone has heard the horror stories of the kids who accidental get  a hold of a weapon. While ours are secure in a huge safe and locked room I am still incredibly uneasy. This is a sore spot with Gary and I something we will never agree on. I sometimes think I am just playing the submissive wife while inside I am screaming GET THEM OUT OF OUR HOUSE!! Any way Gary and a bunch of the guys at our church have found a new fun thing to do and that is to go shooting at a local range. . So while this new fun time for the guys have come around I am seeing the guns in our home alot more. Like a couple of weeks ago one of the rifles were left on the counter, for like five seconds. And let me tell you I blew up! I felt the blood rush out of me and my mouth spoke all kinds of words that no respectable Christian gal would ever use. But I felt like I needed to convey my passion in a way that would show Gary I was concerned and ticked!
NOW LET ME EXPLAIN how this was explained to me.... Gary said it was all taken apart and I trust him that it was.....BUT in my world with a 6 and 4 year old around I believe they have no business ever being around them. While I always feel that responsible gun ownership is a necessity in our society I don't exactly support that thought in our own house.
So I want to hear my friends opinions on this. Am I over reacting??
I don't want to squash guy time, but really what ever happened to climbing a rock and just camping with out the hoopla of shooting things.

11 Things All About Me Questions from Gloria! Go Ahead and consider this your Tag!

1. What are you most passionate about? Being a lover of Christ, wife, mother and worship leader. I think these are my greatest callings and in this season it's pretty much all-consuming. I want to grow and be better at all of it daily.

2. What was your first concert? I saw New Kids on the Block in 5th grade. My poor dad and my friend Sarah Leitte stood in line for hours in the freezing cold! Totally worth it!

3. What is your biggest fear? That something terrible would happen to someone in my family. But, I'm not a worrier and I really try not to even think about the possibility.

4. Paper or Plastic? Plastic. I reuse them for lots of stuff. I usually try to remember my own bags though. I love that they hold so much stuff - fewer trips to unload the car!

5. If you could be any one character from a movie or TV, who would you be? I think I'd like to be Ell from Legally Blond!

6. Which reality show best describes you? This is hard - maybe the home makeover shows. I'd really like to spend more time redecorating and organizing our home.

7. Why did you start blogging? We have family and friends scattered so this was a great way to keep up with everyone and their growing families.

8. If you could do whatever you wanted for a whole 24 hours, what would you do? Sing! I kid you not! I would have a worship fest with my friends from church and all our family's and friends!

9. Where did you take your best or worst vacation? Best vacation - Disney World and Coco Beach. I don't have a worst vacation!

10. What is your favorite piece of technology? My iPhone, hands down. That thing is pure awesome!

Spring Break

Summer is on its way and the kids and I have our flip flops on and ready to wear! We have been off to many parks for a week full of picnics! Here are the kids at the car wash and the park. That little blue eyed girl is sure cute, and little man is just as happy as can be! He is going to be so sad when he can no longer wear his pirate shirt.

Gary's Promotion

Gary received a huge promotion at his workplace into management! The kids and I could not be prouder. Gary has been working in machining and engineering for over ten years and started at the bottom and has worked himself right up to the top! This is a huge accomplishment and we could not be more excited for him! Well done pookers, we love you and are so proud! God is so good to us!

I Have Some Massive Work To Do!

Everyone knows that singing to Jesus is my favorite thing ever. But lately I have noticed a strange change in my voice. It totally sounds tired and pitchy and out of control. So I got out my Jeannie Deva sets and have begun to workout my vocals. I recorded a bit today and wow it was ugly. So I am going to record once a week so I can give myself a good evaluation. I watched a recording of worship from a week ago and was so disappointed in my vocals that I wanted to crawl under a rock. But I know with a good amount of work I can get my voice back in shape. Singing to Jesus is my favorite thing ever I know He knows my heart but I want everyone to hear my heart through the music!
Blessing Y'all!

Spring Time

We spent a beautiful night at the park next to our house! I can feel a Rocky Mountain Summer right around the corner!

The Lorax, Phantom of the Opera, And Pink Eye

Well it been a fantastic weekend, despite me having pink eye. We got to relax and just spend the day together. I had to call in to teaching the little guys as much as I adore those kids I am so ready for someone else to step up and lead the kids. I just can't go all week and not have a relaxing Sunday I miss the worship team and I am getting a little antsy. Wow I did not know that was going to come out when I started typing. All in all I love to teach the kids but I want some balance with serving on the worship team and teaching a couple of times a month. This whole working full time being a wife and mother is a lot of work and I need some balance especially now that Gary is working a crazy shift!
Any way back to our great day....I have pink eye they look and feel like normal so I am assuming I am over it. We went to the movies to see the Lorax and it was wonderful we really enjoyed the film.
We also spent a ton of time playing outside. It was a gorgeous the kids rode their bikes all around the park and spent a ton of time drawing with chalk in the driveway.
I finished the day by getting a ton of text messages letting me know that Phantom was on. One of the most spectacular stage performances of all time. What a fantastic day it was I missed church, but am incredibly thankful for all the love in my home. I think Jesus was so happy to see us just be together and love on each other today!
