Sick kid!

My Lilly is so sick. She has been awake all night. She is tossing and turning and has been throwing up like crazy. I just hate when the kids are sick. To make it worse I have to open my center in just a few hours. This
whole working mom thing just stinks, praying not only for Lilly but for my decision to work full time again.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

3:15 am

Oh why oh why can't I sleep? Poor Lilly is really struggling with her allergies. We have been awake for hours now. All I can do is hold her and pray she will be able to breath so she can go to sleep. Her eyes are all red and glossy like she has been swimming. Praying she does not have pink eye. I have read almost all of a Tinker Bell book just trying to keep Lilly calm. I think her allergy medicine is finally kicking in. In the mean time Owen is now up because he sees shadows in his room. Oh man it's been a long night. Sometimes I feel like I have newborn babies. Remember those old Calgone commercials where the ragged out mom would scream Calgon take me away? And the next shot was of the mom in a nice bubble bath. Oh how I wish Calgon would just make everyone sleep!

Poor Baby She Has a Bed

Lilly stayed up late to help me put laundry away. It got real quiet, this is how I found my sweet helper.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things

My friend Gloria loves to send me these in e-mail so I usually turn them into a whole blog post!

1) Worshipping Jesus with music, is my all time favorite thing. I love to soak in the presence of God and just be full of light in His presence.
2) Being in church with my husband and kids. There is nothing better than watching your kids lean and live for Christ!
3) Having everyone that I love together for BBQ with Dads chicken and ribs.
4) Little moments of love, where the kids are loving on each other and everyone can just be content and happy.
5) A spotless clean clutter free home with no laundry.......Still dreaming.....
6) When family and friends surprise me with coffee at work! It happens all the time and I love and adore that surprise!
7) Having amazing family and friends!
8) Summer
9) Playing jokes on my brother
10) laughing till I cry

20/20/20

So I do this thing called 20/20/20. I take twenty minutes on each floor of the house and grab as many things that we don't use or have grown out of and pack it all up and take to good will. It has been about a year since I did a really good run through of the house. Gary is working on the yard today and my project is NOT to be blogging but doing a 20/20/20. I will get there eventually, its all ways nice when I we can remove clutter and simplify!

My 10 Year Quest

When Gary and I moved back to Colorado from Idaho it was a long trip for our dinnerware. Several pieces shattered during the trip. Not to mention just normal use and me occasionally throwing a plate here and there! Any who I have been on this quest to find new dinnerware. It has been a long journey and I think I may be ready to commit. It is time to say yes to the dish. Here are some of my favorites. Between, Pier One, World Market, Bed Bath and Beyond, JC Penney and Macy's I should be able to just pick one! RIGHT???

My little cook

Lilly is just so amazing!

I love Sundays

Today was fantastic. Started out at 4:45. I got to sing today with Kelly and my mom came to our rehearse and stayed for worship. Since we go to church on Saturday evenings we left right after worship. I came home gathered up my little family and we went to the Omelette Parlor. After breakfast we were going to head up to the mountains but we opted to walk around Garden of The Gods instead because it snowed last night. We had a great time and now we are just relaxing! Happy Sunday friends! Here are some pictures of Lilly's and Owen's new friends.

Getting ready for Easter

Resurrection Buns

  • Lilly and Owen each take a Grand (or other large ) canned biscuit. They flatten the biscuit out until it's about 5 inches across. We spread melted butter, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on it.I explain that the spices represent the spices used to anoint Jesus' body before His burial.
  • Then we place one large marshmallow in the center of the biscuit. The marshmallow represents Jesus. It is white because it stands for His purity and His sinless life. Place the marshmallow in the center of the biscuit, then fold the sides around it forming a "tomb". ( pinch the sides of their tombs closed and then  place them crease side down on a baking sheet so they will not open while cooking). Put more butter, cinnamon and sugar on the outside. We talk about the sweet taste of the spices and how Jesus gave us the sweetest gift we will ever receive.
  • At this point you can go ahead and bake the buns. They need to bake following the directions on the biscuit package. Then they need a little cooling time because the marshmallow will be very hot.
  • When the children bite into their buns they will be surprised to find the center empty. The marshmallow has melted. As each child discovers the empty tomb, we repeat : He is not here for He is risen.

Spring Break

I’m morning Spring Break... We had such a great time from movies to Denver and Salida. Thankful summer is right around the bend.
