Hiking Away

We have been enjoying our family time on Sundays since we have started back to church on Saturday evenings. Today we went hiking. I adore the passion Lilly and Owen have for exploring the mud and water and just being outside all day! This earth is just so amazing. Such a blessing to see these kids grow and find God in everything!
I am so thankful to be sitting outside in the warm sunshine watching my kids run and play. The Lord is just so good!

I have issues!

I have a seriousness problem sleeping. I just don't sleep. I am so tired that I flat out cant sleep. It's not normal. I actually took a sleeping pill and a Benadryl at five before leaving work. And here I am at ten at night wide awake, looking super cute with no makeup I might add! :)
Any who this is my vent post... Please pray for me to sleep, please!!! Gary is tired of me calling him all night.

Preppers

My mom and I are fascinated with people who are preppers. Just in case you don't know what a prepper is they are groups of people that are preparing for the day the lights go out, literally. These people are ether brilliant or insane....Actually they are probably a little if both.
Any way my parents have a huge apple tree in their back yard. This tree has more apples than they know what to do with. Lilly has taken several to her school, I took a bag to work, my mom has made applesauce and I think we are getting appeled out!
Well today a lady stopped by my parents house asking if she could have some of the apples. She also told my folks she was a prepper! Even here In the suburbs people are preparing for the end.
Now don't get me wrong I believe in being prepared ... Hello Jesus!! I also am not stupid and to have things stored for emergencies, however not in a fanatic sort if way!

My Star

Lilly is the class star this week. She got to bring home Leo the Lion. She also made a tee shirt all about her friends and family. My picture printer was not behaving so I did not get to print pictures of everyone. :( but Lilly said she would be sure to talk about all her friends and family!

Adoption Day

I Love God Moments!

We had our first rehearsal tonight for our Christmas musical. I am really excited and praying I don't let these kids down.
I had a God moment and such an overwhelming feeling of love for these kids.
At the end of rehearsal we asked all the kids to pray for each other and pray about bringing someone to church they feel does not know Christ. It is such an amazing feeling to Be in a room full of fifty-seven first through fifth graders praying!
I can't even begin to tell you how precious of a gift it is to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as these kids pray together.
God is so good! I am just so thankful for the Lord in leading our family to such an amazing church. All glory to God!

Oh Brother

When I was growing up I had a really good friend named Bruce Hartley he was so much fun and he looked out for me. Bruce and I met at school in the 5th grade and were great friends all through high school. One of my all time favorite memories was a late Friday night at the sand pits, this is where us Falcons from Falcon would just go and hang out. It usually involved cows, about thirty kids and a stolen barrel from the baseball stadium for our bon fire and hay... We were from Falcon people! Anyway being we were neighbors Bruce took me home.....ok sounds harmless except for the stolen barrel but it was like 3am and my Dad was in the driveway waiting for me. My good friend, and gentleman that he was Bruce said your dad is in the driveway and he pretty much threw me out of the car and drove away! We laughed at that for our entire senior year. It was a great memory. And when I run into Bruce we still laugh at that moment.
Any way I had a flashback to my days of playing chase with Bruce when our doorbell rang and there was this kid at my door asking for my daughter. I know my little Lilly and her little friend will probably grow up together and by the time they are in high school will have many memories. However if she ever comes home from anywhere at 3am with her friend pushing her out the door of a car so help me God I will just wallop her!! :)

3 Interceptions

Really??? Peyton Manning. You are being paid very very well Peyton Manning not to throw interceptions! I am sure after reading my blog Peyton Manning you will remember not to throw interceptions.
Lets all take a moment and remember how we used to like John Elway......went by quick didn't it?
Anyone remember the guy who prayed that brought back mile high fever? I do he is now in stupid New York!

Boys

Lilly and I went back to church early this morning. My sweet little Lilly woke up right as I was leaving this morning so I was blessed to take her with me. On our way home she and I were taking bets on what the boys were doing without us.
Here are some of our guesses!
1) made us breakfast
2) did all the laundry
3) mowed the lawn
4) watching a movie together
5) got mommy coffee
6) played at the park
Lilly and I thought of all kinds of things they could have been doing while we were up at 4:45 serving at church.
We were wrong this is what we found when we came home!!
Haha!!! Lilly and I cracked up! At least they did not make any messes while we were gone!
I love these moments!

Put-Put

Golf has become a favorite subject around here. My dad took Lilly to Patty Jewett for a date and she can't stop talking about golfing! We took the kids to play a round of put-put at the old World of Golf place next to PAFB. Teddy and I learned to cheat I mean play well there!
The kids did great! Lilly is pretty amazing and Owen was getting the hang of it by the end.
My concern is my husband.....Gary played hockey and is a huge hockey fan (stupid lockout) anyway he plays golf like he is playing hockey! It's hilarious! Happy Gilmore has nothing on Gary!
